South Point is the largest neighborhood on the North Island, from Livingston Street south to the channel and Hicks Avenue east to Randall and the East River. It is a middle class neighborhood tittering on the edge of the same lawlessness that plagues North Point; the merchants, professionals and residents who can, have already fled the neighborhood. The current litmus test for the survival of the neighborhood is in the Paddock; a large green space, once a sheep paddock, deeded to the city under the requirement that it remain a park. Several gangs are seeking to stake a claim on the park, If the GCPD fails to keep the park free of gang influence, it’s seen as a sign that South Point is lost.
