Central Heights

Central Heights is where the city was born, dating back to the Dutch settlement of the 17th century; the evidence of the city’s history is to be found in the city beneath the streets; buildings built on top of older structures, streets sealed off and forgotten. Central Heights, or Old Gotham, is home to the city’s financial heart as well as its past; the Financial District, the Fashion District and the Diamond District are all here. Cathedral Square, built around the old Gotham Cathedral, is the most visually dominating feature of the neighborhood.  Ukrainian Village is an ethnic enclave  in the area of Novick, Magnus and Sofia Streets and is home to the largest Orthodox Jewish community in Gotham City.
